Scene Change (Off Screen #9) by J.A. Armstrong

⭐⭐⭐

We’d strongly disliked the first of the Off-Screen series. We’d felt there was zero chemistry and connection between the MCs, actress Emma and scriptwriter Addison.

This book is set many years thence. Emma is expecting their third child. She’s not been working for four years and is missing it. Addison is handling their production house in Los Angeles but misses her family who are in Kansas. The couple is making decisions about where they’d like to stay in future (LA? Kansas? Both? Keep a house in LA or not?). The scene change is mostly about the geographical change in the location of their home.

We are suckers for books that have couples who have created a life together and continue working on their relations. On keeping their connection and romance alive. This one does that…so yeah! It is right up our alley.

There is really not much difference in the dynamics of a couple as their family grows in any of Armstrong’s books. Even the supporting relationships and their dynamics are the same across series. But they are all sweet and cosy. Plus they are all short so definitely worth a dekko.
