This book is funny and sweet. The villagers of Duckton-by-Dale
remain as crazy (if not more) and as nosy as they were in the first book.
Faith Divine is comes to the village as a temporary vicar
making a stop at the café run by Drew Pettigrew. Faith pulls up on a red
Ducati mobike – all black leather, tattoos and lean sexiness and Drew is
smitten. Drew is quite certain about her sexuality, but hasn’t been able to
come out to her mom, Esther, who insists on setting up Drew on dates with any and
every bachelor she knows of. Drew, in fact, has nursed a thing for her best friend
Harriet Haversham for a long time. That is till she finds Faith. Despite being
friends with Vera and Jenny, and knowing Grace and Harriet; Esther refuses to
accept Drew’s sexuality.
Faith and Drew are a lovely couple. Initially the book
describes mostly Drew’s reaction to Faith, but their chemistry is evident. The pacing
of the book is good. The characters and situation are quite funny.
This is a light, very entertaining read.
