In Bloom by Allie Keane

⭐⭐☆

Sometimes you want to like a book because it has everything – but you just cannot get totally involved into it. This was one such book.

Erica works at her aunt’s floral shop, Beth’s Blooms. She makes all deliveries for the store in addition to other things. One delivery is to a potential new long-term client, a bridal shop. The client is Catherine. Erica (hitherto straight) feels an unexpected attraction towards Catherine and goes back confused by her reaction. Catherine has her own issues with an ex who happens to be part-owner of her business, but doesn’t want to ignore the feeling Erica evokes in her.

This is a pleasant story. Both the MCs are fine. But we just didn’t feel the chemistry, the attraction or any emotion between them. We’d really like to pinpoint what didn’t work but it is just that the book didn’t draw us into the story or the characters. Given that, we would say this is an okay read, but not something to scramble for.
