Holly and Ivy: A Lesbian Holiday Romance by T.B. Markinson and Miranda MacLeod

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

This is a completely feel good, totally uplifting romance with two awfully likeable MCs.

Introverted genius, Holly Lovelace created a dating app for her best friend, Nolan, and it turned out to be so good at matching people that it made her a multimillionaire. Holly’s company proceeded to create other successful games and apps, but Lovelace Connections remains the torchbearer, something that Holly is not entirely comfortable with. The company is about to go in for a second round of funding and Holly is under pressure to come up with another unicorn idea to wow her board and the venture capitalists. Except that she doesn’t seem to be holding up all that great. Despite her protestations of being perfectly fine, Nolan coerces her to go away to a small island for a few months. About to get o the ferry to the island, Holly meets Ivy, a year-round islander. Ivy is a certified clinical social worker, the only one on the island, and has visions to create a clutch of enrichment programmes for the young kids on the island. Just that she is strapped for cash and time. Both the women are carrying their own baggage, heartbreaks and broken dreams when they meet but find gaps being filled by the other.

We’ve always loved T. B. Markinson’s writing. It flows well, has great dialogues and the pacing of her books are perfect. Till Holly and Ivy we were always either disappointed by or hated one of her MCs and that made us quite sad because we wanted to like her books more than we did. And we are thrilled that Holly and Ivy is absolutely perfect. Both the MCs are lovely ladies. Their connect, sexy. Both are equally into each other and don’t shy away from expressing their feelings to the other. This one is really, really a perfect romance with all the feels. Ivy’s two friends are hardly all that great, but don’t take away from the book in any way. We absolutely loved this book and the hopeless romantic in us is all gooey-eyed with happiness.

Totally recommended.
