Melissa Brayden is one of the most bankably safe authors in the
world of lesbian romances. Her writing is fun, her characters sweet and the
supporting characters nicely etched out.
This one is a small town romance.
Molly O’Brien is struggling to keep her business afloat.
After four years of having lost the love of her life, Cassie, in a plane crash,
she is also tentatively testing out waters again.
Jordan Tuscana is Cassie’s younger sister, who has returned
to town for the first time in four years. She now a filmmaker in midst of exploring
whether she wants to continue in a job or start off on her own.
Jordan has always had a crush on Molly, but never acted on
it since Molly was firmly into Cassie, the sister.
However, this time round, things are different.
Usually, in a romance, it is difficult to balance both
characters equally – for the author and for the reader. There is always one
that the reader gets better and becomes more fond of. This is one romance where
both the girls are equally balanced and we like – really like – both immensely.
The end was a little weak, in terms of the documentary that
Jordan finally ends up making. But apart from that, this is a lovely, flowing
read.
