Finding Aurora by Rebecca Langham

⭐⭐⭐⭐

A fun, quick action-adventure-fantasy novella which is an off-shoot of Sleeping Beauty.

Aurora Rose has been sleeping in Oldpass for a hundred years. Prince Amir’s kingdom, Grimvein, is under attack and his parents task him with wakening Aurora so that they city of Oldpass can throw in their weight with Grimvein and did them out of the hole they are in. Prince Amir is accompanied by Talia, a spellcaster, who is also crushing on him. Talia has a secret ally, Red, a being between he living and the dead. It just so happens that Talia is attracted to Red also.

The book is quick moving with constant action. It is inclusive inasmuch Amir turns out to be asexual, Talia bi-sexual and Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) when she wakes up, is gay. One of the things we absolutely loved is the reimagining of Sleeping Beauty as a feisty, strong girl who learns to astral project and be an active part of her rescue.

This book is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
