Age-gap, pretend-relationship, BDSM – this one ticks a lot
of tropes, but is one of the sweetest romances. Though there is kink in the
book, the kink doesn’t drive the romance; the romance drives the kink.
Twenty-three year old Lindsey was an art student but ends up
selling insurance. It is a job she hates but has to pay off a huge medical debt.
Egged on by her friend, Lindsey offers herself as a sugar-baby. Of all the
responses she receives, one from Camilla, thirty-nine, catches her eye. The only
hitch is that Lindsey is straight. Camilla and Lindsey meet and somehow Camilla
gets the impression that Lindsey is bi – an impression Lindsey doesn’t bother
to correct. Camilla proposes a deal between them for three months.
Lindsey and Camilla are totally likeable. Camilla could’ve
been turned into a nasty piece of work, but she is made much more sweet and understandable.
We love the fact that this is a pure romance with just enough BDSM that doesn’t
make it more than can be handled. In fact, teh sex scenes are really good.
A totally sinkable-into read.
