Perspective by Monica McCallan

⭐⭐⭐☆

Campbell St. Clair’s first novel did exceptionally well and is being made into a movie. Campbell, who is suffering from writer’s block since her sensational debut, is the on-set consultant for the movie and nervous because the challenging role of the protagonist is being played by Sloane Murphy. Sloane, an A-lister, has been on the top of the heap from almost the time she started a decade back. That is about the same time since Sloane left college, where she and Campbell were students at the same time.

Both the MCs are likeable, but Sloane, the troubled celebrity just discovering the curve in her road, had an edge. A huge edge over Campbell on the likeability scale. She is more honest, more open, more vulnerable, more willing to risk, more everything. The build-up is good. The humour and dialogues really flow well.

This is an engaging and engrossing read.
