We really wish some of these all-lesbian towns imagined by
authors would actually exist. Moms, friends, sisters, colleagues…everyone in the
world in this book are gay. And supportive. And efficient. And…let’s just say,
all things perfect.
Sheriff Chance Fitzsimmons has always been drawn to
law enforcement. In her last job as a smoke jumper, she had a bad accident in a
fire and had to leave it. She is now the irreproachable sheriff and something
of a role model to the youngsters around. Veterinary doctor, Jax St. Claire,
is in the process of taking over her uncle’s practise in the town. As a
teenager, Jax spent summers in the town and she hadn Chance had become quite an
item. They went on to follow their own dreams without angst but with
deep-rooted feelings for each other. Feelings that don’t take long to
resurface.
Both the MCs are fully realised, explained and likeable
(though we like Jax just a wee bit more). The attraction and chemistry between
them, really well done. We wish the whole track with Faith wasn’t there in the
book at all – it is just too tragic. Some dialogues are great fun. With
romance, action, mystery and sex, this is quite the complete package of
entertainment.
