The Fling By Rebekah Weatherspoon

⭐⭐⭐☆★

Sexy times. More sexy times. And then some more. But surprisingly, a lot of romance too. With almost every other scene being a sex scene, it would be difficult to imagine that there is any space left for attraction, romance and backstories. But Weatherspoon manages to pack it all in.

Annie Collins is going to be married in three months. Instead of typical bachelor / bachelorette parties, Annie and her fiancĂ© decide to give each other a ‘free pass’ to live their fantasy. Annie’s fantasy is to explore her bi-curious side and be with a woman at least once. That one-time encounter is with her trainer, Oksana Gorinkov. However, once is not enough and then emotions enter into the mix. The books completely draws one in right from the first scene. The attraction and the chemistry between the two MCs sizzles.

There are however, two big issues with the plot. Annie has her fantasy one-night stand with Oksana being upfront about it with her fiancé. However, pursuing the relationship with Oksana is, in fact, cheating. Not cool. Despite this, Annie comes across as a very, very likeable person; particularly because we have a soft spot for people who follow their heart.

Our real problem is with Oksana. She has been burnt in the past and is very self-protective. However, when Annie’s world is crashing around her, instead of being supportive, patient and loving, Oksana makes one offer of support, loses her temper and ghosts. This is super-not-cool.

The climax was kinda hurried and rushed. There had to be more building back.

But the sexy times?…HOT. Makes this book worth it!
