Uncommon Emotions by Lynn Galli

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

The opening scene? Funny, funny, funny. Moving further…totally got goosebumps with fluttering butterflies of emotion while reading about the growing attraction between the two MCs, Joslyn Simonini and Raven Malvolio.

Joslyn is a turnaround consultant and specialist for companies not doing too well. Clearly she is pretty awesome at her work. While consulting for a family business, she meets Raven, the CFO of the organisation. Joslyn is straight with a boyfriend, but the day she meets Raven has been rather unusual, and Jos seems to be feeling some residual effects. Their professionalism approaching the work and hand and ease of connecting helps take their acquaintanceship further.

Written in first person in Joslyn’s voice, the book has great humour, excellent pacing, fully realised characters and relationships. Usually when one of the MCs is the narrator, we end up liking the object of their affection more than the narrator, but in this one, Jos totally shines.

Loved, loved, loved the slow burn…and the moment just before the first kiss…wow!

This is romance-central and so recommended.
