Anonymous sex with mild kink sets off the first scene of the
book. That made us feel that this was an erotica with mild BDSM. But as we
proceeded, we were delighted to find this to be a romance, and a good one at
that.
Emma and Sage are both in a place where they don’t want a
relationship. They have found a way to fulfil their needs through anonymous sex
via an app. They meet each other once or twice a month and haven’t even
exchanged their names. Emma is Lucky and Sage is S. And then…they find
themselves working in the same publishing house. Emma is an editor and a
commissioning agent and Sage has just joined Marketing. They are both quite
dismayed to find out about the other and more so because this spells the end of
their entirely satisfying trysts. But their attraction and chemistry extends
beyond the beds in hotel rooms and binds them in a connection worth exploring.
This is a novella, but both the characters are
well-developed and we get an understanding of them. The chemistry is really
good and the sex is super. Thankfully, no contrived angst mars the narrative.
Definitely recommended.
