The Best Things in Life by Kate Sweeney

⭐☆

Usually we find Kate Sweeney’s book easy romcoms with excellent chemistry. This one disappointed in every way.

Cara Pembroke is a journalist based in Chicago. She is given an assignment to write a human interest story about one Morgan Gavin who has rescued one of Cara’s colleagues around Lake Kabetogama, in the boundary waters area. City girl Cara was planning a holiday which has to get postponed to after she returns from doing her story. So off Cara goes for ten days to interview, observe and write about Morgan.

The storyline is flimsy at best (and we are being kind here). There was zero chemistry between the MCs and infinite matchmaking from every single one of the supporting characters. There is nothing that is common or that builds between the MCs for any romance.

This one can be safely skipped.
