Stormy Seas by Ali Vali

⭐⭐⭐☆

Politics, action, intrigue, high drama with lots of loving between the two MCs. A typical Ali Vali book which is typically very, very readable.

Commander Berkley Levine and Captain Aidan Sullivan of the US Navy have pissed off misgynistic bigots by their success and their high places in the pecking order of the Navy. They become the last straw to tip ex-Vice President of the country, Dick Chandler (taking swipes with the very name itself, there) into going beserk enough to launch an all out offensive against USA. While Chandler sets off a series of terrible events, Aidan and Berkley have been assigned a mission to find and stop him.

The book is high octane action, but had way, way, way too many characters. So many that we lost track and just glossed over who is who trusting that anyone important will stick. Vali does edge-of-the-seat action well, but her real gift is in writing loving relationships. The dynamic between her MCs is loving, committed and the chemistry simmers and bubbles. We totally love that.

This is recommended for its fast paced action and even more for the lovely relationship.

PS: We are expecting another spin-off from this series starring the arch-villain’s equally villainous daughter Rachel as the lead after having had a change of heart and personality.
