This is the lesbian version of Harold Robbins’ books. Insanely
rich and powerful protagonist who has women falling at her feet and loves
playing around. Meeting an ingénue, a HOT ingénue = insta-lust + insta-love +
insta-change of personality. The title makes it clear that this is a series and
we can probably expect one book for each member of the Club.
Madison (real name never revealed) is a
part of the exclusive Lesbian Billionaires Club which, if we
remember right, has twelve members. Madison is out and proud and a player. The
rest of the members of the Club are not equally out and want Madison to put an
immediate stop to her philandering ways and stop the attention she draws. The solution
that the Club members have is that she should find someone and settle down. Aggravated
by the ultimatum, Madison wants a drink in her car on her way back to the
airport. Since there is none available in the car, she makes a pit stop and is
hit by a car driven by one, Claire. Claire is smokin’ and Project Claire starts
in earnest a) because she is super-hot and b) she is the perfect answer to the
club’s ultimatum.
While we weren’t particular fans of Madison, we absolutely love
the power and money at her disposal. Claire and her hotness jump off the page. The
sex scenes are so many that this should be called an erotic romance rather than
a romance. (PS: they are good). The late arrival of a secondary storyline was
tepid but likely necessary for continuity to the next book.
Considering that Harold Robbins was madly popular, this
kind of fantastical escapist fantasy is a popular jam. It is short and has good
sex scenes – so why not give it a shot?
