⭐⭐⭐⭐
Short and sweet, this story of a single mom and a doctor is traditionally
romantic. No angst, likeable MCs, a good cast of supporting characters, it is
easy and cute.
Tess Sinclair got unexpectedly pregnant at twenty and
the father vamoosed. Tess’ parents weren’t supportive so she left her studies and
ambitions to become a doctor and is now a single mom with twins. She is a
package delivery person and harbours a quiet crush on Dr. Brooke Campbell
who works at Salem Women's Health Center where Tess often makes
deliveries. They exchanges pleasantries whenever their paths cross but it is
all distant and formal till one of Tess’ twins literally runs into Brooke in a
pizza parlour. The pizza mishap leads to the two women spending some time
together and then some more.
Tess and Brooke are very, very likeable women. The
development of their relationship is very well articulated. Their attraction and
connection is believable and the pacing of the book is just right.
Not overly long, this makes for a pleasant weekend read.
