Funny, highly entertaining and short (okay, at 31,500 words
it is more than a novella but not quite a full-length novel) – this book is
absolutely great.
Violet Weston is the head librarian in a smallish
town. One dark and stormy night (not quite a plot point, but we just wanted to
write this phrase somewhere :P) she has plans to live out her dark domme
librarian fantasy and has arranged for an escort. Candace Kane is new to the
town and in her shifting-unpacking chaos is late in returning books she’d
borrowed from the library and choose the stormy night to do so.
The first scene beggars belief, but is the perfect opening
for this thoroughly madcap romcom. Both the MCs are terribly attractive but Candace
has the scales tipping in her favour for the limericks she writes.
This one is so, so recommended.
