Okay, we cannot be reviewing lesfic without touching the
first lesfic writer that we ever became completely mesmerised by. While
scouring all the Xena fanfic sites, we came across Melissa Good (aka Missy Good
and Merwolf) and were completely captivated by the relationship she built
between Xena and Gabrielle. Naturally, we devoured everything we could find by
this writer.
Tropical Storm was her uber fanfic, which quickly
became a series. Xena and Gabrielle became Dar Roberts and Kerry Stuart in
this, though physically they remain exactly the same. This series is set in the
world of IT, which may seem dated now, but that doesn’t change anything in the
romance between the two. Dar is responsible for assimilating companies that her
company takes over. She is ruthless in her cuts and letting people go. Kerry’s
small-time company is the latest one to be taken over by Dar’s corporation and
the two meet in less-than-ideal circumstances.
The growing relationship between Dar is Kerry is awfully
sweet, managing to raise goosebumps. Their first kiss…aww! Okay, as the story
progresses it goes into weird with Kerry’s dad and his response to Kerry being
gay. But still, OTT romance…bring it on.
Definitely recommended for the sweet, sweet relationship
between the two MCs. In fact, Good’s Xena/Gabrielle and Dar/Kerry are total
