Pretend Girlfriend by Lily Craig

⭐⭐⭐

Escapist rom-com fluff with a premise that is always farfetched fun – fake girlfriend.

Celeste Lamontagne a crazy rich, gorgeous girl was dumped by her girlfriend in the worst possible way – Celeste caught her with another woman in their bed. Now the ex is getting married and has invited Celeste. Fuming, furious Celeste decides to go for the ridiculous wedding but in romantic bliss. The problem is that she is neither in romance nor in bliss. So she finds herself a temporary girlfriend in Lane Bishop.

The book is predictable, the burgeoning romance has nothing new. The climax in the ship is ridiculous at best. The characters lack depth.

And yet, it all works for those hours you spend just wanting to be entertained.

Not a recommendation for a top pick, but this one is fun all the same.

PS: One additional star for Celeste…especially her easy willingness to do whatever it takes to make the relationship work.
