Two Tickets is a lovely slice-of-life novella about fandom and a road trip. While this is the context of the book, Landers gives us a whole lot more.
The back cover blurb does an exceptional job of describing the main protagonist, Maggie Dale. Here's who Maggie is:
Maggie Dale lives a secret life in her small Idaho town. On the outside, she’s shy and reserved, hiding behind the walls of her dead-end office cubicle, stuck with how to talk to anyone. On the inside, she’s full of wild dreams, and her favorite singer, Savannah Grace, embodies all of them.
Maggie snags two tickets to Savannah's show, but the friend she counted on breaks his leg. After a concatenation of circumstances, she ends up asking her office crush, August, to the show.
August is also characterized really well. Both the MCs are extremely likeable and in many ways, fully relatable.
The drama comes, not from them, but from their run-in with Savannah during their road trip.
So, Savannah Grace.
I'm such a fangirl for her. Right since the first book Falls from Grace — which I've read more than once. In fact, I continue reading anything set in Savannah Grace's world because there'll be a peek at her. Really weird — and I own it.
Coming back to Two Tickets, it's a great read — short, sweet and so feel good. I definitely recommend it.
