The Bluff (ShudderCon #4) by Kate McLay

⭐⭐★

Sadie Porter is a middling Hollywood celebrity who has run into a series of terrible events. First, her phone was hacked and a sex tape with her in the starring role has gone viral. Not only is her most intimate moment out for public consumption, it has also unceremoniously outed her to the world. Plus, now there is a threatening stalker complicating her life further. Her supportive politician mom and manager hire a bodyguard, Nic Sirsat, to take care of her till the stalker is caught. Sadie is immediately attracted to Nic, but circumstances won’t allow her to take it further. Worse, the same circumstances have the two women spending almost every second of their time together.

Sadie is rather likeable right away. Nic, not so much. And after the reason for Nic’s divorce is revealed, we actively didn’t like her and wished Sadie had got a better person. This series is meant to be light fluff, but we still wish this couple was a better match.

On the whole a non-intensive, not-completely-awful read.
