This book follows Undone
by the same author. It can be read standalone, but there are references made to
the other book which make more sense if you know the context.
Domino Rush is the songwriter for The Shrikes, a band
she’s formed with her sister Billie and two other friends. They had a
successful debut album but her creativity has been on a blink after that. So there’s
been nothing new from them from about two years. Domino, instead of trying to
work on the band’s next album, prefers to drink and play the field. Her house
is in as big a mess as her mind, with shoes in the oven, so her band-mates (who
are also really good people to have as friends) hire Sabrina Meloy to
organise Domino’s house, hoping that decluttering Dom’s space will declutter
her mind also.
Sabrina’s innocence, playfulness and her seriousness about
her work make her someone easy to get invested in. We hadn’t like Domnio in Undone and she’s not terribly likeable
in this one either but Sabrina saves this book and makes it a romance where you
really want this couple to work out.
This is a short, light, easy-breezy read.
