This was an unexpectedly great read. We’re not sure what we expected – but surely not so much humour and sweetness.

Samantha Markson is a teacher in one of the more exclusive schools in Melbourne. One fine day she is presented (forced into) an opportunity to be a private tutor to one 9 year-old Grace Taylor, daughter of world famous actress (on whom Sam is somewhat crushing), Abigail Taylor for three months. Sam is suddenly sucked into a new world which is completely different from her regular world she inhabits. Abigail, despite her celebrity status and history of bad relationships is surprisingly down-to-earth and a great mom. Sam and Abby are attracted towards each other but reluctant to act on the attraction because of the limited time that Abby is going to be in Melbourne.

Sam is thoroughly adorable – especially is irrelevant and absurd sense of humour. Abby is as likeable. And Grace too. The pacing of the narrative is perfect. The relationship, and the way it progresses, is completely believable. The end went a little wonky – with neither of the MCs ever talking about a possibility of finding a way to be together and their friends jumping in to get them together – but that is a small niggle.

On the whole, this one is one lovely romance.
