Give Me A Reason By Lyn Gardner

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

This book left us overwhelmed. The huge number of emotions that this book evokes is unbelievable. It is long, but unputdownable. It draws you in immediately and keeps you firmly engaged.

Gardner has created a complex and complexed MC in Toni with a devastating past leaving her with an extreme case of PTSD. In Laura, she has created a deep and sensitive MC. The two together are so awesome that their relationship practically jumps out of the pages and takes firm residence in our hearts.

Starting from their first meeting to the final HEA, we are completely invested in the relationship as Laura firmly, stubbornly and with exquisite gentleness helps Toni to heal. But at no point is Toni shown as weak. In fact, both the girls are strong, very strong. Laura’s move from being straight to falling in love with Toni is completely believable.

On every step of their journey, we find ourselves melting a little more at the beauty of their slow building relationship. We want them to get together so much. The unhurried pace of the development of the relationship is so delicately handled that you cannot imagine it unfolding in any other way. The ending is a little too dramatic, but that is barely an issue in the larger scheme of things.

The author has created amazingly robust and complete characters in this romance, which transcends beyond romance to become a love story for the ages. After reading it, we are practically wallowing in an afterglow of the beauty of the relationship.

Definitely, definitely a must read.
