Sports romance. Age gap. Celebrity. Parental angst. Devastating
pasts. Insecurities. Scheming villains. Utterly, utterly engrossing.
Morgan Spencer, one of the top golfers seems to choke
at the last minute in her majors. She develops a ‘twitch’. It happens thrice in
a row and has become a talking point in the world of golf. Quiet, introverted and
rather reclusive, Morgan’s inability to cinch a major is standing in her way of
getting the biggest endorsement too. Or so she thinks. Her manager says that
the biggest sports brand is shying away from Morgan because of her iciness. The
perfect solution comes in form of Adrienne Wyatt, a television documentary
producer who’s working on a film about women’s golf and would like to follow
Morgan for a bit and also do a couple of sit-down interviews with her. Mad
attraction between Morgan and Adrienne complicates their working relationship
because, you know, unethical and unprofessional.
We fell into deep like with both, Morgan and Adrienne, as
soon as they were introduced. We loved, loved, loved the fact that they talk –
actually talk – to each other. It is
such a relief to find two people who converse and work on their relationship
together. We love the respect they have for each other. Their emotions are fast
growing but give an impression of solidity. There is a lot of golf in the book,
but it is not necessary to know the game to enjoy the book.
This is a really, really wonderful read.
