Her Royal Highness (Royals #2) by Rachel Hawkins

⭐⭐⭐☆★

A great rom-com romp with an utterly adorable Princess as the lead. This is unapologetically a rom-com so don’t go looking for any more than that. No great plot line, deep thoughts, or delving into characters or their thoughts. Pure fun – and rather short at that.

American Millie, has been wanting to go to Scotland for her senior year of high school. She is accepted but refuses using the excuse of how expensive it is, but in reality because she has just got involved with once-friend, now-something-more Jude. When Millie finds Jude kissing someone else, she starts pursuing scholarship for the school ardently and manages to get it too. Once there, she finds her roommate to be superior and actually mouths her off before realising that the roommate, Flora, is actual royalty. A wild, untameable royal princess.

All the sweetness in this book comes from Flora. Frankly, we have no clue what Flora sees in Millie and what attracted her to the rather self-focussed American at all. But then, rom-com. So just set it all aside and enjoy the impossible story.
