Following Miss Match, this book is about a computer
nerd/prodigy, Shelly White and up-and-coming PR whiz kid, Claire Moseley.
Samantha Monteiro, owner of a matchmaking agency Perfect Match is presented as
something of a genius in being able to get the right people together. Shelly is
her client. Samantha’s partner, Lucinda Moss is Claire’s boss.
Shelly is a super-rich girl who has built her empire by
herself. However, she has extreme social anxiety and Samantha is trying to work
on her confidence and social skills. Claire is a hardworking executive who has
a disdain for people using matchmaking services to find a partner. Samantha
believes that these two are well-matched and introduces them in a mixer
arranged for Shelly to meet potential partners where she invites Claire to
ostensibly help with some work.
Our problem with this book is the way Shelly’s character
flip-flops. She is all shy, awkward, stutters and under-confident when she is
with Samantha and Lucinda. However, when she is with Claire and Claire’s
brothers, she is quite a different person. That created quite a dissonance.
That said, this is an easy read. Riley write excellent sex
scenes and this one has quite a few hot, explicit ones. Plus, with each book,
we get a little more infatuated with Samantha. If you’re looking for something
breezy and hot, this is definitely for you.
