At Her Feet By Rebekah Weatherspoon

Sometimes we like to jump headlong into books, often without even reading the synopsis. That way we feel we can be completely open to the book; a blank slate so to say, willing to absorb the story and character without any preconceived notions. At Her Feet was a book that we picked up because its cover looked like a sassy, urban romance which would have fun dialogues. We were stunned that this turned out to be a BDSM (more dominant-submissive than bondage and sadomasochism) book! BDSM is not a genre that we are drawn to in any way but we also like to finish a book that we’ve started. This one is about a Domme-Sub, with a mommy-little girl kink/fetish added on.

Suzanne is a digital marketing producer with a need for submission. Not only submission, but she wants to be a ‘little girl’. A past relationship had submission but more sadism than she could handle. When she is introduced to us, her sex life consists of watching porn, servicing herself and searching for a domme on various internet sites. Her online search leads her to Pilar.

The story is told in Suzanne’s voice so we understand that there are things that she wants. That submission and masochism are her needs that require fulfilling. That she is in love with being dominated and with her dominatrix.

Since these are not exactly things that we understand or can remotely empathise with, we cannot comment on how realistic the MCs or their relationship is. However, for anyone with even a little bit of inclination towards this world, this would be a tender, caring relationship and it would rank as an excellent romance with enough highly detailed, titillating scenes.
